Jennifer began practicing as a second-year law student doing an internship with the New Hanover County, NC District Attorney’s office, taking the bar in February 2006. She then began practicing in the realms of criminal defense but mostly domestic relations, which has been her focus of practice ever since. She moved to Oregon with her husband in 2015 and was admitted to practice in Oregon. Jennifer has focused on representing clients in all manner of domestic relations cases, however her favorite cases are when she represents children. She takes the time to know her clients as individuals and makes sure they are seen and heard. Understanding that it can be difficult to navigate emotionally sensitive issues, she provides her clients with the legal skills and knowledge so that they can make confident decisions for their families. “I like to think that I am good at getting to know not only the economic, but the non-economic side of a case, what makes a client happy, sad, upset, validated. It is important to be a zealous advocate, but it is equally important to be an active listener and advisor to a person in need.” For nearly two decades of practice, Jennifer has made herself available to her clients and has stood with them in their times of need, priding herself on the fact that so many clients stay in touch once their case is over.
“It is such a blessing to me, since I get the joy of seeing our hard work together on the other side”.
Jennifer lives in Corbett, OR with her husband (who is a retired Army Green Beret) and their four children. As a family they love watch collegiate sports (Wisconsin Badgers and Oregon Ducks) and they enjoy spending time on the Columbia Gorge.
