Kayla is an Oregon native. She graduated from the University of Oregon in 2022 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Science with an emphasis in Criminal Law. She has always been passionate about the law and helping individuals who face difficult and challenging legal situations. Kayla joined McKean Smith as our Portland Legal Secretary in hopes to eventually move into paralegal work. Prior to joining the firm, Kayla worked as a Workers Compensation Legal File Clerk, which effectively translates into the Legal Secretary position at McKean Smith, where she uses her high attention to detail, multitasking, and organization to support attorneys in their practice.

Outside the office, Kayla enjoys hiking, reading, and traveling. She also enjoys gaming, spending time with her family, and is a great enthusiast of all things Disney and Harry Potter related.
