Friends & Foundation of the Camas Library latest recipient of 100+ Women Who Care Clark County donations
Donations will be used to establish an Early Learning Center
CAMAS, WA (May 8, 2019) 100+ Women Who Care Clark County gave a boost to the proposed Early Learning Center at the Camas Public Library.
Members of the local giving circle met Wednesday, May 8 at Grains of Wrath Brewing in downtown Camas. Karen Nicholson, a Library Associate and well-known leader of various story times for kids at the library, nominated the Friends & Foundation of the Camas Library. Nicholson said the donations will allow the foundation to get a jump start on renovating the library’s existing story time room into the Early Learning Center.
Members voted to support the foundation after hearing about two other Clark County nonprofits as part of the nomination process. The other nominees were Girls on the Run, and Camp UKANDU, a camp for pediatric cancer patients.
100+ Women Who Care Clark County is a giving circle that meets quarterly. Members who attend are eligible to nominate local nonprofits to be considered for the quarterly donation.
Members commit to a $100 donation to the charity voted upon by the members at each meeting.
The next meeting takes place Wednesday, August 7 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Grains of Wrath Brewing in Camas. There is an optional social hour before the meeting from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. More information is available at www.100womenclarkcounty.com.
